Whether you’re trying to settle your mind prior to setting your new year’s intentions, wanting an alternative to a costly and crowded night out, or simply preferring to be immersed in your practice as the clock strikes midnight, there’s an online New Year’s Eve yoga or meditation class that you can access.
Some options are more cerebral, others more physical, yet all of them enable you to create a little space to bring closure to what was and align with the vibe you want to be in 2025. Who knows? 1. Un-Resolution Revolution: New Year’s Eve Yoga
This two-your class is designed for those who (rightly) believe “you don’t need to change everything about yourself to make a meaningful start to the year.” The session—which includes slow and accessible movement, supported restorative postures, breathing exercises, journaling, and meditation—emphasizes understanding how to “set boundaries, embrace true rest, and welcome the winter season’s natural call to slow down.”

2. New Year’s Eve Online Sit 2024
As has become tradition, the New York Zen Center will conduct a joint in-person and online evening Zazen meditation session “to reflect upon the year that has passed and ponder all the possibilities a new year might hold.” The Zazen approach to meditation includes “short periods of sitting meditation.” The quiet time will be followed by a dharma talk and 108 chimes of the bell.

3. New Year’s Community Class
Yoga and meditation teacher Travis Eliot is one of those special yoga teachers whose classes and insights we come back to year after year after year. This 90-minute free online practice on YouTube includes a balanced lineup of power yoga flow, yin yoga stretches, breathwork, and meditation. Those familiar with Eliot’s work from YouTube and Inner Dimension TV know the value of the teaching and the quality of the production.
